Mechanical Engineering Students Association

Mechanical Engineering Students Association (MESA) was formed from the first batch since 1989 with the intents of bridging the gap between the students demand and the available resources to satisfy it.

Main objective of the students association is to cater the requirements of extra curricular developments, industrial interaction, and arranging the lectures of prominent personalities from the different areas like, non conventional energy resources, entrepreneurship development, advances in manufacturing technologies, advances in different engineering fields, presenting competitions for students arts, different technical events etc.

MESA elections are held in every academic year in the month of Aug. Generally different preferential voting is the selection criteria for the election of different body members for the different post. Post of MESA president is reserved for BE Mechanical students only, all other posts are Secretary, Treasurer, Cultural Secretary, Sports Secretary, Auditor, Class Representative etc.

For the academic year 2007-08 Mr. Kunal Patil Student of the BE Mechanical was elected as a MESA President

MESA Objectives

  • To spread the knowledge about Mechanical Engineering and technology
  • To ensure continual improvement and development of mechanical engineering students through a lecture series / seminars / experts lectures etc.
  • To ensure effective communication of the requirements of university, institutes, students and teachers
  • To ensure continual development of institute and alumni interaction
  • To establish the processes needed for continuing suitability of the association and implementing the basic needs of association
  • To promote student teacher interaction.

MESA organizes departmental activities right from freshet’s to farewell interspersed with departmental picnics. Personality Development Programs, Spoken English Courses, Technical Seminars / Lectures, Competitions, Cultural Programs, Sports Activities are among the other activities conducted by the MESA. Students are also encouraged to participate in national level technical events, workshops and Technical fairs.
