Department of civil engineering was established in 1983 with an intake of 60 students at UG level. Subsequently the department launched PG programme in Building Science & Technology in the year 2003 with intake of 18 students. It received the status of Research center under North Maharashtra University, Jalgaon in year 2006. It is accredited by National Board of accreditation, New Delhi and institution of Engineers (India), kolkata.

The department boasts of a well qualified faculty with all its 14 regular staff members & 1 visiting faculty either having completed or pursuing post graduation. Most of them are involved in research, testing & consultancy projects in various fields of civil engineering enabling the students to work on live projects during their study. The consultancy projects include structural designs, proof checking and third party scrutiny of designs, detailed engineering of construction projects, project management consultancy, land surveys and plotting.

The laboratories are well developed with all necessary equipments. Computer lab of department is equipped with latest machines & LCD projector for online teaching. Departmental library is developed over the years through donations from faculty & alumni and caters to needy students.

The department is consistently attracting bright students for enrollment every year; who excel regularly not only in University examinations but state & national level competitive examinations like GATE & MPSC.

An alumni cell is maintained which keeps in touch with all the past students who occupy good positions in Government Departments, Construction Industry or in entrepreneurship.

With a spurt in infrastructure development in India, one can estimate a pressing need for qualified and IT Savvy civil engineers to shoulder this challenge. The department will continue to thrive to address these needs for times to come.
