Laboratories
There are Six Mechanical Laboratories those provide hands-on experience on topics covered in undergraduate courses. These labs include necessary infrastructure and the resources to satisfy the academic requirements of the students. Computer Lab is equipped with Pentium IV PCs and necessary arrangements for conducting the practical. CAD / CAM lab which is one of the core requirement for the mechanical engineers is provided with necessary configurations of computer and the required software for all round curriculum development of students Student have access to these labs for preparations of their software projects, Seminars, Internet access or personal use. Since mechanical soft skills are important, students are encouraged to use computers in their free times other than college hours. CAD / CAM lab also provides necessary training / courses in CAD/CAM software other than academics.
All round academic development is the main objective of the teaching and learning process with the needs and expectations of today’s industrial development and market. To satisfy these requirements there are also special purpose machines like CNC Lathe and CNC milling. Department also provides the facility of separate computer lab for developments of projects of BE students and the facility of Broad Band Internet connection.
Considering the basic requirement of Mechanical Engineering College has set up of well-equipped workshop, which contains lots of machines for academic study.
Thermal Engineering Lab
Lab is equipped with all the facilities for conducting practical as per the requirements of the university. Turbo machinery (Includes the water turbine like Pelton Wheel, Francis, Rotary Compressor, Screw Compressor etc.),
I.C. Engine (Different types of test rigs like 2s and 4S Petrol and Diesel Engines, Flue Gas Analyzer, Electrical Generator Set this set generates and provides the electrical energy during the power cut off)
Applied Thermodynamics (Reciprocating Air Compressor, Working model of Double acting Steam Engine, Models and Charts of Different Boilers, Bomb Calorimeter for measurement of calorific values of solid and liquid fuels)
Refrigeration and Air conditioning (Mini Ice Plant, Heat Pump, Room Air conditioner Test Rig, Water Cooler, Electrolux Refrigerator etc.)

Material Science Lab

Considering the basic requirements of mechanical engineering the lab is well equipped with all the latest equipment for study and analysis. The lab includes different sections as
Testing – Universal tensile tester, Izoid Impact Tester, ND Testing Facilities, Charpy Testing. Standard specimens are developed at the time of practical within the department only and those are used to carry different test / trials
Furnace – Electrical Operated Furnace
Analysis – Different Material microscopes are available and to compare the results of various experiments, different standards and charts of different microstructure are available.

Theory of Machines Lab

Considering the fastest growth of mechanical engineering in various automobile and core industry department has developed a theory machines lab, which is very much helpful for students, for study of machines, mechanisms, vibrational and torsional analysis with the help of latest equipments. The lab includes different types of dynamometers (Both absorption, transmission type), Different gear trains, Transmission Axles, Differentials of Automotive, Gear Boxes to understand the basic concepts of power transmission in automotive sectors. To understand the modern technologies related with vibration its measurement, analysis, monitoring and impact on the performance of various machines separate vibration testing setup is available.

The lab is equipped with 30 no of computers with essential requirements to run the modern software like CATIA, ANSYS, AUTOCAD and other mechanical engineering software. The lab is provided with central server facility and access is open to all the students for all the working time. Metrology Lab

As one of the core consideration of Mechanical Engineering is monitoring and measurement, this lab includes all necessary infrastructure for understanding the concept of Monitoring and Measurement. In this era of Mechanical measurements modern equipments are important hence the lab is provided with all modern equipments. The lab also provides the different IS Codes for conducting the practical as per Indian Standard measurement practices. The lab is also equipped with different calibration devices which are important understand the standards of measurement.
